Hello! This is Barry from Cameroon. I have been accepted by the program of Chinese Language in Wuhan University of spring. I will continue with the study of international trade at bachelor degree in September after finishing Chinese learning. My application for Chinese university becomes easy with the help of CISS.

Applying with the help of my friend

On 1st, Sep, I applied Chinese Language Program of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies through one of my friends studying there. I applied for autumn at that time. I knew it is a bit late. But my friend told me it would be faster if I sent these documents to the university directly. So I followed his advice and tried. I posted the copy of passport, certificate of education, transcript and the original version of the application form and another important certificate to him. On 10th, Sep, my friend told me that he had got my documents and sent them to the university. We would get the result in 2 weeks.

First contact with CISS

But I did not hear from him until 25th, Sep. I was a little worried. But I do not know what to do except waiting. I tried to find some information through the internet. CISS caught my sight. I registered at their website. I received an email from the course consultant of CISS the next day. She told me the relevant information of the courses and asked me about my study plan in China. I told her that I have applied GUFS through my friend. She called the teacher in admission office of GUFS immediately. What frustrates me was that the teacher told us that she did not receive my application documents.

The process of negotiating with the university

Hearing this, I contacted my friends again. But he told me he have definitely submitted the documents for me. I was anxious. I did not know what to do. But the course consultant did not give up. She helped me find the address of the admission office and told me the name of the admission teacher. I gave this information to my friend and asked him to contact the teacher directly. What a pity my friend said he had sent my documents to another person. The course consultant asked me to submit the documents to her again. I felt ease. However, I got a bad news that GUFS asked me to submit the original version of that important certificate (I referred to above). I have sent it to my friend. And it was missing. I got lost again. And it is around the middle of Oct. The autumn semester has started for one and half months.

Final decision about universities to apply for

The course consultant suggested that I can apply for the spring. Even though I came to China, I may fall behind other students. In this way, I can get more time to prepare the application. Because of some personal reasons, I did not check the email box for some time. Around the middle of Nov. I got free and opened my email box. I found that the consultant sent several emails to me to tell me the information of courses for spring. I replied to her we can begin the application process. And I want to continue the degree program on international trade because I am working in my father’s company. She chose two universities for me according to my documents and study plan. They are Wuhan University and Beijing Foreign Studies University. I only need to upload the application documents with email or the website through CISS.  

Final results

I got the result soon from Wuhan University with the help of CISS. Now I am still waiting for the result of BFSU. I hope I can choose the one I like better after getting the result of both universities.

My feelings

Sometimes it is safe to apply for universities by ourselves because we need not pay the fee to others. But it is really slow and to find the exact information is so hard. I do not even know which status my application is. I realize my dream of studying in China easily with the help of CISS. I am grateful to CISS and my course consultant.
